NECC

I’m writing this from San Antonio, Texas at the NECC conference. This is my first time at a national conference for technology. I was just a little overwhelmed at the extent of the technology present.

The overwhelming theme this years seems to be on collaboration and 21st century learning skills.

There are thousands of products, to help accomplish this, even when we may already have products and skills to accomplish the same things.

Technology is Exciting

I’ve been using internet technology since I became aware of it in 1994 or so. The first experiences I had was with the Texas Education network called TENET. It was totally text based in those days. I also used Compuserve and AOL. The compuserve did not have the local modem service that AOL in my area.  Computer graphics were very basic.

 Ever since those early days, I have been trying to find ways to use technology to help improve by teaching or at least make my job easier. I was a band director, using the computer as a communication tool helped to make things go smoother.

This blog was created for you. Use it to communicate what you have learned. Use it to teach yourself.
